Who Ciphercounts is & what we do

CipherCounts is an innovative accounting firm that brings together Big Four veterans and experienced technologists. Together, we work to advance financial practices across the crypto industry. In addition, CipherCounts is a core contributor to Bitwave’s product offerings and product development. As part of this work, we help lead SaaS integrations and also collaborate with several of the largest crypto mining companies in North America.

Importantly, CipherCounts is one of the earliest crypto accounting firms. From the very beginning, we traveled to hackathons and conferences around the world. At the same time, we helped build the foundational framework for modern crypto accounting practices. Because of this, we worked closely with key industry leaders and institutions, including the Ethereum Foundation, academia, and the AICPA.

Over the years, our work has included:

  • First, developing accounting protocols for complex DeFi products, including staking, validators, liquidity pools, investments, and trading. In doing so, we prepared financial records for a multimillion-dollar startup that was later acquired and grew into a multibillion-dollar merger with one of the largest crypto mining companies in North America.

  • Next, supporting the design and build of ERP solutions for one of the first algorithmic stablecoins and, later, for a multi-collateral algorithmic stablecoin.

  • Additionally, working directly with the Ethereum Foundation on EIP-1559.

  • Likewise, supporting several of the original DAOs.

  • Beyond that, helping launch Collab.Land’s DAO co-op, now a leader in social token platforms supporting a network of over four million users, including Bored Ape Club.

  • Collectively, the core team’s combined experience has helped support hundreds of successful funding rounds.

  • Finally, earning multiple features at Bitwave’s Enterprise Digital Assets Summit and presenting on stage with various projects at ETH Denver.

Today, we continue to actively participate in global hackathons and conferences. Through this ongoing involvement, we showcase CipherCounts’ commitment to staying ahead of industry trends. Bio

Libby is a licensed CPA with over 15 years of experience in accounting, digital assets, and information systems. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, where she specialized in data science and artificial intelligence, with a focus on algorithms and predictive modeling. A crypto native for over a decade, she was invited into the Ethereum ecosystem and pivoted into the industry. In 2017, she founded CipherCounts, a boutique crypto accounting firm of highly trained Big 4 and TradFi technologists dedicated to building next generation systems.
